Quoddy Trail Moccasins

February 9, 2009

From the Quoddy Trail website, “The Shorey family has been making moccasins for generations, beginning with Harry Smith Shorey, a handsewer for L.L. Bean in the early 1900s, who also had his own shop in Burlington-Lowell. Today, we continue his fine tradition on the Quoddy Trail. In Downeast Maine, near the shores of the Passamaquoddy Bay, we make our traditional moccasin styles using the same time-honored techniques and quality materials.

Each process is done by hand — cutting, skiving, stitching, and handsewing.”

“With Quoddy, you receive a genuine handmade moccasin. While leather properties vary slightly with every hide, each pair demonstrates our philosophy: Attention to detail and no shortcuts.”

That pretty much nails it. Hand-made moccasins with the freshest materials and quality family ingenuity. Made in Maine. Come in many styles including, a boat shoe, ring boots and everything in between.

Adding these to the buy list as well. Check out more information on styles and how to purchase your Downeast Maine moccasins HERE

Shepard Fairey was arrested Friday night on his way to the Institute of Contemporary Art for a kickoff event for his first solo exhibition, called “Supply and Demand.”

Two warrants were issued for Fairey, after police determined that he had tagged two Boston locations with graffiti based on his early, Andre the Giant street art campaign. Officer James Kenneally stated. One of the locations was the railroad trestle by the landmark Boston University bridge over the Charles River.

Park to the Future

February 9, 2009

Parking and a nice uncluttered yard? a virtually impossible accomplishment. Well that’s all changed. (Pictured above) A west London resident, combining the garden and parking space together, has developed a unique design to deal with the loss of front garden areas to car parking space in urban environments. The minimalist contemporary garden not just provides ample space to park your vehicle underneath it, but also helps in maintaining the exterior aesthetics of your dwelling.
